About Mrs. Garrity
I've been teaching first grade at Braden River Elementary since 1988! I consider this place my home and those who work here my family! I have had many children from the families who live right here in River Club and Lakewood Ranch...so many, I have lost count...each one a treasure to help learn and grow! I can't wait to do the same for your most precious treasure...your first grader!

My husband, John, and I live in Glenn Lakes, West Bradenton. My son,
Patrick, and my daughter-in-law, Jonnie Sue, live close by and visit often, usually for dinner ( I LOVE to cook!) My foster-son, Charles and his wife, Ra, and family of 5 live in Tallahassee. My youngest son, Douglas (27) lives on in my heart since March 22, 2009.
My philosophy of education is quite simple...children who love to learn, will! I adhere to the belief that the student's needs, interests and experiences are the key elements to the success of their learning.
I am, truly, your partner in the education of your child! Please talk to me when you need to and I will be sure to do the same. Let's make this year the very best for your First Grader!

Hobbies & Favorites!
I'm hooked on...(in this order!)
1st. Ghirardelli Chocolates...a really guilty pleasure!
2nd. Walking everyday...yes, yes, I know...so I can eat more chocolate, that's why!
3rd. Shoes...yes, it's real and it's deep and I cannot deny it!
Free Time Pleasures...
I love to travel...anywhere (especially to see family and friends in England, France and Spain!) Cruising and air travel are my favs, but John and I have ridden his Harley around South Dakota and all over Florida, including to the Keys!
I love to cook...it's my stress release! Oh, yes, and I love to eat...I'm a foodie, big time! Indian food is a passion (but I can't cook it!)
