Some Things To Know...
Chilren can arrive on campus as early as 7:55am. They can eat breakfast and wait in the seating area until our morning begins at 8:25am. Dismissal begins at 3:05pm. If you need to pick your child up early please email me, send me a note or call the office and I will send your child to the office to meet you. If your child is going home a different way than they normally do please us the PikMyKid app or call the office.
BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS
We have birthday celebrations in the classroom during the last 60 minutes of any day. Just email or call me if you'd like to send in or bring in treats. Please follow the Manatee County Healthy Foods suggestions OR call the cafeteria manager and order a Birthday Treats Basket!!
LUNCH TIME IS YOUR TIME TOO
Our lunch time lasts 20 minutes and begins at 11:50am . When we can have visitors again, just sign in at the office and join us. Your child may choose one friend to join you, if you like.
HOMEWORK POLICY
Homework is aimed to provide your child with the opportunity to develop independent work habits, learn personal responsibility and to practice current skills. Homework will consist of reading 4 or 5 times per week and a math review practice sheet 3 or 4 times per week. Parents please initial your child's reading log (it will be inside their Take Home folder.) Math can be returned as completed.
Positive Behavior Support
It is a priority in my classroom to create an atmosphere that helps each child feel safe, confident and loved. PBS is a classroom management system adopted by BRE that uses behavior strategies that create a positive environment, build self esteem and allows the child to own their behavior. In the beginning of the year you will receive a behavior contract for you to review and sign with your child.
